RESEARCH INTERESTS
John Jackman’s research interests are focused on understanding the impact of uncertainty at the interfaces of design, manufacturing, and operations. Of particular interest are form, location, and orientation estimation of geometries found in wind turbine blades. After measuring surfaces created through one or more manufacturing processes, we can characterize the degree of uncertainty in the surfaces by fitting probability distributions.
