RESEARCH INTERESTS
Partha Sarkar’s research interests are related to developing new analytical and experimental techniques that can be applied to aerodynamic problems of civil engineering and aerospace structures. It focuses on the structural and aerodynamics aspects of wind engineering and wind energy that spans across the following topics: wind-tunnel testing and full-scale testing of engineering structures; aerodynamics/aeroelasticity of flexible structures such as tall buildings, long-span bridges and wind turbine blades; basic fluid-structure interaction problems; laboratory simulation of unconventional wind – tornado, microburst, and gust front for wind load assessment; wind damage survey and prediction; computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and system identification applications; computer-aided structural analysis.
