Mentoring Experience

Students will be given opportunities to mold future students and share what they know through several venues. Iowa State University has launched initiatives to increase the number of under-represented students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. These include Science Bound and the McNair Scholar Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program. Each student will be expected to participate in at least one mentoring experience afforded by these programs. Taking active part in these efforts will expose them to mentees and other students who can be recruited as WESEP fellows. Students will receive mentor training through the Iowa State University Honors Program Mentoring Workshops.
