Research Thrusts

WESEP fellows will gain fundamental knowledge and experience in at least one WESEP research thrust and will acquire significant knowledge and experience in all five research thrusts (RT). Synergistic interactions between student and faculty researchers from different thrusts are expected to achieve Goal A: Advance wind energy knowledge.

• RT1: Wind resource characterization and aerodynamics of wind farms
• RT2: Wind energy conversion system and grid operations
• RT3: Manufacturing, construction, and supply chain
• RT4: Reliability and health monitoring
• RT5: Wind economics, policy, and public perception
